Yokai Forest
The story is set in early Taisho period Japan, a time when the country was rapidly modernising and embracing many influences from Western culture.
A young human boy, Shonen, must find all the missing tree spirits to save the withering forest. During his journey he encounters various Yokai that have taken on human appearances to disguise themselves and live amongst people in the towns by running shops or inns to keep up with the modernising country.
